VIVOBAREFOOT for Kids
Why VIVOBAREFOOT barefootshoes are the best choice for kids' feet
When we take our first steps, it is a matter of natural instinct. That is why as children our patterns of movement are still natural.
At the beginning kids usually walk without shoes. The feet have direct contact to the ground and the kids feel the structure of the ground directly. They react intuitively to irregularites and adapt their movements accordingly.
Kids' feet are largely made of cartilage and are still malleable. That why it is especially important to choose the right shoes during the growing phase.

Shoes that are too tight, badly or overly cushioned, prevent sensoric feedback and thus also the natural movements of children's feet. A cushioned shoe prevents the body from learning to compensate impacts and uneven ground by itself. Too stiff a sole and an unnatural shoe shape restrict the flexibility of the foot.
Kids' shoes by VIVOBAREFOOT have a thin and flexible sole. This ensures protection and at the same time maximum sensoric feedback. The broad form leaves freedom of movement for feet and toes, so children's feet can grow and develop as nature intended.
Furthermore wide and flexible shoes make moving more fun.

Find the right size: how to measure kids' feet
Have your kid stand on a sheet of paper wearing the thickest socks they will wear in the shoes. Draw both feet outlines (hold pen perpendicular) and then measure the longest distance between big toe and heel on the drawing.
The longer measurement is the shoesize. You'll find a size chart on every shoe page in our online shop or here for download.
Because kids' feet are still growing we recommend to add between 0.5 and 0.7cm to the size.
